The Path to Practical Horsemanship

You will find a way to resolve an issue with your horse when your mind accepts a different way of dealing with the issue. It’s very difficult to resolve an issue with the same mind that created it.  Students become aware of the concept of setting your horse and yourself up for success.

Practical Horsemanship will emphasize your safety and awareness.

Jim begins with Round Pen techniques, the communication without a halter and lead rope. Students will then progress to groundwork technique,  the exercising of the new perspective they have begun to develop in the round pen with their horses. Jim’ s goal is to “bridge” the “feel” students developed in the round pen and with the groundwork up into the saddle.

Here a student offers a suggestion with her “flag" in the round pen.

Students begin to fully grasp that what transpires on the ground has a direct correlation to what happens in the saddle.

The process that Jim guides clinic participants through is creative, and inspiring. Jim describes himself as a “People Trainer”, and through his Practical Horsemanship he teaches techniques and interventions that can be used daily to create an enjoyable experience for the horse and the rider.

His style encourages you off the “rail”, into the arena with your horse. Joining up into a comfortable learning environment where each individual learns at their own pace.

By opening up to change and being flexible, you can take what works for you and leave with a new idea about your horse and yourself. It all starts with us.

Having fun learning new things together.

From the ground up into the saddle.
